Today I visited the NY Times website and found a dramatic photo-essay on
the recent car bomb that went off in the market district of Peshawar, Pakistan on Wednesday. The photographer used primarily wide and medium range shots so that they could capture the level of destruction going on around them. The photos detail the confusion and chaos, with fire and rubble framing every picture. They also show people helping to care for the wounded, both demonstrating the strong sense of community in Peshwar, but also the the devastating effects this conflict has had on its people. The photos have great contrasting colors - there is the bright orangey-red fire standing out against ashen skies and crumbled buildings.
